“Bulking” is mentally hard for me. I’ve never done fitness competitions or anything like that, but every once in a while I intentionally switch gears to focus on fuelling my body with lots of good food to serve my current health and fitness goals. Obviously this means I may gain a few inches, and I usually have to remind myself WHY it’s important.
Right now is one of those seasons. I am focused on nourishment, building strength, taking care of my body, and not burning the candle at both ends.
The 20 something year old in me still wants to cringe a little when I look in the mirror. Ive always been fit and lifted weights which meant I had years of people telling me my butt was SO big, my quads were HUGE and I could crush a guy with my thighs. ?
Yes, I get it. I have muscular legs haha
But the bottom line is this… you can’t be in fat burning mode forever. Because like anything, you will plateau and it will make it harder to make it a lifestyle long term. Change is good.
Trust the process. ?
