The last few months have been pretty hard on me. I’ve been struggling with finding a sense of purpose, have found myself being overly critical of myself and my body, and have been dealing with the stress and anxiety of moving and finding a house.
This left me feeling pretty unmotivated and disempowered…and also led to quite a few nights on the couch binge-watching Netflix, avoiding all the things I needed to do.
I leaned on my usual coping strategies…
➡️ working out
➡️ eating well
➡️ reaching out to friends for support.
But it still wasn’t enough. 3 months ago I felt like I was drowning and I wasn’t quite sure how to come up for air.
So I reached out to my coach (and a therapist..ha!), and worked on controlling the things I could control. We are all responsible for our own well being…and when you are sucked into the daily grind it can easily feel like this is just how things are from now on.
? Changing up your routine is a good thing.
And when what you were doing isn’t working anymore, it may be time to try something new.
I started a new strength program, switched up my work schedule, and focused on changing my mindset to a growth mindset, instead of one that was grounded in a fear of change.
Happy to report, I’m starting to feel much more like myself again. ? We all need a good RESET every once in a while…and it’s not easy to do on your own!
