Healthy Reading for Kids

Some of my fondest memories of my childhood involved my mom reading me bedtime stories. We would read the same books over and over, anything from Robert Munsch to fashion magazines.  reading with kids

*I’ve now realized that you can read pretty much anything in a childish tone and keep a kids attention. Yesterday my daughter and I were reading articles on sport specific training exercises and she couldn’t help but enjoy listening to me read out loud.*

Reading is calming, informative, and helps teach important listening and comprehension skills. Early reading instilled in me a lifelong appreciation for books and education
, an appreciation I hope to pass onto my own child.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Bar Review

I was recently sent these snack bars from Manitoba harvest for a review and I’m so glad! I love quick, healthy snacks on the go, so I thought these would fit in nicely with my busy lifestyle. I was a bit hesitant because I am not all that familiar with hemp and its benefits. When I think hemp, I think of the stuff I made jewelery out of as a kid, doesn’t sound very appetizing!

Egg Cup Recipe

Goooood morning!

The start of the new year was also the start of a new eating program for me. As a busy mom, personal trainer, and fitness addict, my food consumption wasn’t enough to sustain the amount of energy I was putting out so I knew I had to make some changes. Let me say this….eating MORE food is sometimes harder than eating less! Before, I would skip breakfast if I didn’t have enough time in the morning or was distracted by my daughter and not even notice, But now, skipping breakfast is a big problem. After getting used to eating 5-6 times a day, not eating in the morning makes me very HANGRY. I made these great little egg cups last night and they reheated so well! Superfood smoothies delivered right to your door? Yes please! When Jenna at Green Blender asked if I wanted to try one of their smoothie delivery boxes I was pretty stoked on the idea.

If you have read some of my other posts about meal delivery service, you will know that I love convenient healthy food delivered. I also really love smoothies, so win-win!
